Chipotle, garlic and lime are combined in this homemade salad dressing to create a crazy flavorful Chipotle Vinaigrette that you are going to love.

Whether you’re drizzling it over a simple garden salad, or a hearty taco salad, this salad dressing is a keeper.

Chipotle Lime Vinaigrette

You’ll want to check back soon because I have a fantastic Southwest Steak Salad to share later this week that pairs perfectly with the Chipotle Vinaigrette. I recommend shaking together a jar of this dressing now, so you’ll have it ready to go when you make the salad.

If you’ve been hanging out with me here for very long, you already know just how much I love making my own salad dressings. Just about any salad can be wonderfully dressed up with a great dressing.

I love having salads made-ahead in the fridge for easy lunches and having a variety of dressings waiting in the fridge keeps it interesting.

Chipotle Vinaigrette Ingredients

  • fresh lime juice
  • honey
  • olive oil
  • chipotle peppers in adobo
  • fresh garlic
  • kosher salt

If you haven’t made your own dressing before, it is beyond easy to make. All you need to do is shake the ingredients together in a jar and pop it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve it.

Salad Dressing Recipes

Homemade Ranch Dressing is a reader favorite and it’s been one of the most popular recipes on the website for years now. This Balsamic Vinaigrette comes in a close second to the ranch dressing.

I’ve published over 30 salad dressing recipes and a few of my personal favorites are Strawberry Vinaigrette, Creamy Poppyseed Dressing, and the classic Italian Salad Dressing.

This Blueberry Vinaigrette caught my eye recently and I think it would be delicious on this Blueberry Apple Walnut Salad.

What could I use instead of the honey. My son has turned vegan and I would like to make it for one of our weekly dinners.

    1. Mary Younkin says:

You should be able to use maple or agave syrup for this recipe as well. It will change the flavor slightly, but it should still taste great, Lorraine.

I loooove this dressing. Sweet, spicy, tangy, and so easy to make. 6 ingredients and blends together perfectly with a spin of the immersion blender. Just used it on our taco salads and I’m not sure I’ve ever been that excited about a salad. YUM!!! Thanks for sharing.5 stars

    Hello,
Thank you for the delish dressing recipe, we loved it on our carnitas salads.
Wondering what can I add to make it creamy and how much without losing the awesome flavor.
    Thank you so much!❤️

I haven’t tried that myself, Chris, but I’d start with a bit of mayonnaise and whisk it as smooth as possible. You may need to tweak the other ingredients a bit to make sure you don’t lose flavor. Enjoy!

This is one fantastic salad dressing!! Spicy, tangy, sweet, just all around terrific! I made a simple salad with romaine and colorful mini bell peppers, and served it with the salad dressing along with Spicy chipotle shrimp and jalapeño lime rice. My husband smoked some jalapeños a few months ago so I made the chipotle in adobe, and it is far superior to canned. Thanks for the recipe! I’ve pinned 4 other salad dressing of yours since!5 stars

These are the types of recipes that stand out. This is the way!

Absolutely delicious and unique —> I played around with the ‘chipotle peppers in adobo’ in terms of hotness – I did half the recommended portion.

I paired this dressing with coleslaw (carrot, white cabbage, coon, red cabbage) + home-made fries + 5 hour slow cooked sticky barbecue-sauce pork ribs (I nailed it btw).

Your dressing turned a beautiful home-made meal for guests into something next-level memorable.

    Regards

I am lowkey obsessed with this dressing now! I made it on a whim to dress a cabbage salad I was taking to a potluck since I had some limes I needed to use up, and I already had all the other ingredients in my pantry, and now I can’t stop making it!5 stars
