This smooth and creamy Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge is going to be your new favorite treat this holiday season.

I made this fudge for my husband’s office a few years ago and my kids went a little crazy over it when I let them taste test the recipe.

EASY Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

They were so sad when I packed it up to send to work with Sean that I promised them we’d make it again soon. I knew I could make good on that promise because of how easy this fudge is to make.

I’ve made it every Christmas since then and it remains a family favorite.

Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

Easy fudge recipes are my saving grace this time of year. I always want to be that hostess or friend with plenty of holiday treats at her fingertips, but then time gets away from me. Lightning-fast candy recipes help me put together holiday treats with the least amount of effort.

It only takes a few minutes to stir this fudge together and it always disappears almost as quickly as I can slice it.

Peppermint Bark is a spin on chocolate bark that’s extra festive and fun during the holidays. I also love to make big batches of this Peppermint Marshmallow Fudge and  Cranberry Macadamia Nut Fudge to give as gifts and bring to parties.

If you’re wanting more chocolate and mint in your life, these Low Carb Thin Mint Cookies are blowing my mind. I don’t even know how it’s possible to turn everyone’s favorite Girl Scout cookie into a low carb dessert that tastes every bit as good as the original, but it is.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

This easy chocolate peanut butter fudge recipe is the perfect blend of my favorite 5-Minute Chocolate Fudge and this Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge. At first glance, it looks like a normal all-chocolate fudge. When you bite into one of these squares, you enjoy the mind blowing flavor combination of peanut butter and rich chocolate.

The texture of this fudge is spot on. Each bite melts in your mouth with creamy chocolatey perfection.

Five Minute Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe

The secret to the perfect texture of this fudge is the marshmallows. Mini marshmallows are melted together with semi-sweet chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk.

We liked the balance between sweet and bitter that semi-sweet chocolate provides, but if you prefer you could certainly substitute milk or dark chocolate chips.

However, please do not try to substitute evaporated milk or real cream for the sweetened condensed milk! I promise you that condensed milk is the only kind that will give the fudge the right consistency. Trust me on this.

After the chocolate and marshmallows are melted, simply stir in creamy peanut butter and vanilla extract and mix until everything is well combined. Pour the fudge into a prepared pan and let it chill until firm (about 3 hours).

That’s it!

I prefer to slice this fudge into one-inch squares to serve and store. The chocolate peanut butter fudge is so rich that sometimes just a square or two is enough to satisfy my sweet tooth . . for a few minutes, at least. I admit to finding this treat hard to resist.

Store your chocolate peanut butter fudge in a sealed airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks. Chances are it’ll be gone well before then, if the people in your house liked this as much as mine did!

This fudge recipe also freezes beautifully. Once the fudge is sliced, transfer it to a sealed container and store in the freezer for up to several months. Thaw it in the fridge when you’re ready to serve.

If you’re like me and tend to find yourself strapped for time during holiday baking season, consider making a big batch of chocolate peanut butter fudge in advance.

Then, whenever you find yourself with last-minute company (or realize you forgot to buy a gift for your child’s teacher) you have a delicious homemade treat ready to go!

Kitchen Tip: I use these bowls, this spatula, and this pan when making this recipe.

  1. Combine the chocolate chips, milk, and marshmallows in a medium-size saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently as the chocolate melts.
  2. Add the peanut butter and vanilla. Stir to melt and combine well.
  3. Remove from the heat. Lightly grease a 10-inch square pan or line with parchment. Pour the fudge into the pan and spread with a spatula.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator until firm. Slice into 1-inch pieces and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

My fridge is going to be PACKED with trays of fudge to share and I can’t even pretend to be sorry about that. When I find a fudge recipe that makes people happy and makes my life easier, I just can’t resist.

I’m never sad to have a freezer stocked full of fudge, I tell you.

Followed recipe exactly and this is not fudge it has the texture of taffy.

    1. Mary Younkin says:

That’s odd. I have no idea how these ingredients could possibly have been stretchy like taffy.

    2. Deb says:

I used Fluff instead of marshmallows. I used approximately 1/2 cup and added a tablespoon of cane sugar syrup ( or use corn syrup) to help stabilize the softness of the fluff. Worked out well! Very 😋 tasty5 stars

  2. Jessica Burke says:

Okay I take back my previous comment, after letting the fudge sit out overnight the texture changed and it is great. Just be patient.

    1. Mary Younkin says:

Fantastic! Thank you for the follow up comment, Jessica. I am glad it worked out.

  3. Kaila says:

My daughter wanted to make fudge last night, but somehow we had ran out of butter, so I found this recipe. I have tried other microwave type fudge recipes before and most of them taste like chocolate chips and do not have the texture or rich taste of fudge; I didn’t have high hopes for this recipe, either. However, this recipe is wonderful. This is probably the closest you are going to get to traditional fudge without all of the work. Great flavor and very creamy. It did come off the stove with an odd, “taffy-like” consistency like other reviewers have stated, but don’t give up on it— once it sets up it has a soft, creamy texture. We will be saving this recipe for when we need a quick, great-tasting fudge. Thank you for sharing.5 stars

    1. Mary Younkin says:

I’m so glad it was a hit, Kaila.

  4. Melissa says:

I have a question – can you substitute marshmallow fluff for the marshmallows?

    1. Mary Younkin says:

Hi, Melissa. I haven’t tried doing that for this recipe, so I can’t say how it would turn out. If you decide to substitute marshmallow fluff in this recipe, let me know how it turns out! Either way, I hope you love the fudge!

  5. Mary Jo says:

Found this recipe last year. Made it for my 2 son-in-laws who loves chocolate and peanut butter. Both were surprised when they bit into a piece and tasted the peanut butter. My first batch this year was an ok but didn’t turn out looking like I thought it would. I think it was my marshmallows so I went out and bought more before making my next batch. The first batch is fine and tastes great. My second batch I made in my double boiler. Boy talk about a difference in the texture. Nice and smooth and of course it still tastes great. From now on I’ll be using my double boiler.5 stars

    1. Mary Younkin says:

I’m happy to hear that you’ve found a way to make the fudge even better, Mary. Enjoy!

    2. Laura says:

Can I leave the marshmallows out completely on this recipe?

    3. Mary Younkin says:

In this case, they help provide the texture for this fudge. It will be very firm without them.

  6. Pam says:

Can you use FAT FREE sweetened condensed milk? That was all they had at the grocery when I went.

    1. Mary Younkin says:

Hi, Pam. Unfortunately, I haven’t used fat free condensed milk in this recipe before, so I don’t know how it would turn out.

  7. Sandra says:

It’s very good fudge and is not taffy like at all, it’s very tasty 😋 I made some at my daughter and they loved it too5 stars

    1. Mary Younkin says:

Glad to hear the fudge was a hit, Sandra.

  8. sherry smith says:

I’m 66 years old, made a lot of fudge for my kids and grandkids, this is hands down the easiest and most delicious ever ! Followed recipe as stated no changes, perfect ! Thank you so much for posting this !5 stars

    1. Mary Younkin says:

I’m so happy to hear that you’re enjoying the fudge!

  9. Sonia says:

My judge didn’t set, it’s consistentcy is like pudding. Any suggestions how to fix?

    1. Mary Younkin says:

Hi, Sonia. The fudge may take a while to set, and definitely needs to cool for a while. If it’s still too thick, it might have cooked for too long and lost too much water.

  10. Mary Mihiylov says:

Are the marshmallows supposed to melt?

    1. Mary Younkin says:

Hi, Mary! Yes, the marshmallows should melt completely into the fudge mixture.

    2. Tanya says:

      My marshmallows did not melt

    3. Mary Younkin says:

It sounds like the mixture cooled too much before adding it.

  11. KATHY CARTER says:

Did not set up. Waste of money!1 star

    1. Mary Younkin says:

The fudge should’ve been pretty firm when you finished stirring it together. It gets pressed into the pan, not poured. Did you change any ingredients?

  12. Sharen Lee-Latz says:

Tried this at a party last night. Really Good. Got the recipe, printed it and making this week. Again, REALLY GOOD.5 stars

    1. Mary Younkin says:

      I’m thrilled you like it!

  13. Deni says:

I’ll know tomorrow, but I think I blew it using very high quality dark chocolate chips for this. The fudge looked kind of grainy when I transferred it to the pan to cool. I tasted a tiny bit , and the chocolate has overwhelmed the peanut butter taste. 🙁3 stars

    1. Mary Younkin says:

I’ve never used a high quality chocolate when making this kind of recipe, Deni. I typically just use regular semi-sweet chocolate chips.

  14. Janelle Humphreys says:

I made this in addition to the dark chocolate nut fudge, the peanut butter fudge, rocky road fudge and peanut brittle. The texture was great , super easy recipe but I think my taster was overwhelmed with the others by the time I got to this, the peanut butter got lost. I thought about putting peanuts in it and now I wish I had. It was good but the others were fantastic.4 stars

    1. Mary Younkin says:

I’m glad you’re enjoying the fudge recipes!

  15. Cathy Basil says:

I’m afraid to attempt it because the recipe lacks some detail. It says stir as everything melts and then pour it into the pan. Does the mixture not have to reach a certain stage before pouring in the pan? I’ve tried many recipes and some have been too hard and some too soft. Help!3 stars

    1. Mary Younkin says:

This is a microwave or quick stove-top recipe, not an old-fashioned thermometer required fudge recipe. You literally just have to melt everything together and then let it cool.

  16. Jared says:

Fast & Easy recipe to follow!

    Tips:
Prepare pan first before you start , so you can pour immediately after fudge is done as it hardens quickly.

Measure out peanut butter & vanilla before you start so you can add it in, when ready,

STIR pot the entire time to prevent burning, keep it on low heat. Take your time and be patient5 stars

    1. Mary Younkin says:

I’m so glad you like the fudge!

    2. Carrie Atkinson says:

Awesome!! I made a triple batch and it was a hit with everyone at home and work over Christmas. I’m getting ready to make another triple batch because my friends, family, and myself can’t get enough! I really love that it comes together so quick and easy. I can work all night and come home and put it together before I lay down and it’s perfect when I get up. 😊 Thanks!!!5 stars
