One of my favorite things about ice cream is that it is an endlessly versatile, adjustable dessert. Add chunks of baked goods, candy, fruit, or nuts and you transform plain old vanilla into something truly magical.

Even with an ice cream like moose tracks, which already has mix-ins, you can still make it even better with toppings. There’s whipped cream, chocolate sauce, peanut butter sauce, salted caramel sauce and so many more!

Start by whisking together the cream, milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla in a large bowl. Then, pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s directions.

While the ice cream is churning, make the chocolate fudge sauce and let it cool on the counter. If you’re using store bought fudge sauce, disregard this step.

When the ice cream has finished churning, scoop about a third of the ice cream into a freezer-safe container, drizzle generously with about a third of the cooled hot fudge sauce, and sprinkle with peanut butter cups.

Repeat these layers twice with the remaining ice cream, sauce, fudge, and peanut butter cups. Then, freeze until firm. Serve with additional hot fudge sauce and extra peanut butter cups, if desired.
