Apple Walnut Salad with blueberries, goat cheese, plenty of fresh greens, and parsley is a fall favorite and it is a perfect match for the very popular Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette too!

Apple Walnut Salad
I’ve been making an Apple Walnut Salad for years now and a while back I had the idea of trying it with blueberries too. It was incredible!
The bright flavor of the greens in this salad meets the sweet crunch and pop of the apples and blueberries, creamy goat cheese, and crunchy nuts. The sweet and tangy dressing finishes it nicely.
I’ve been making this salad regularly for the past couple of months and I’m excited to be sharing it with you at last.
If you want to turn this salad into a hearty meal, grilled or Last Minute Chicken would be a great addition.
Or, if you’re like me, and just need a little more protein to call it a meal, bump up the goat cheese and add a sprinkling more nuts.
This Apple Walnut Salad easily keeps me full and happy for lunch or for dinner.

Kitchen Tip: I use this knife to make this recipe. (FYI that knife is a screaming deal for the quality and I’ve been using it for more years than I can count at this point.)
Apple Walnut Salad Recipe
- Add the spring mix, apple slices, cheese, walnuts, blueberries, and parsley to a large bowl or platter.
- Drizzle with vinaigrette and toss to coat.
- Serve immediately.

I’ve served this salad for dinner, alongside this Oven Baked Crispy Chicken and I’ve also served it with this Sausage Tortellini.
It would pair well this Roasted Chili Maple Pork Tenderloin, these Salmon Cakes, or this Spicy Orange Garlic Shrimp.

Great salad and we always love the fresh fruit and nuts. Since this was our lunch, I added some sliced smoked turkey breast to the salad. It is so delicious and a salad I will definitely make again. : )
I’m so happy to hear that you like the salad, Nancy!
Thank you for this! I really liked adding strawberries to this. It reminded me of a salad I got recently at a restaurant. Yum!
I bet this was delicious with strawberries too, Michelle.
This was tasty and refreshing. Only thing I did different was that I candied my walnuts. I would make again.
mmmm, I bet it was even better with candied walnuts!
I’m probably overlooking the dressing recipe. Could you please post it? Honey vinaigrette?? Thank you.
I like to use my Honey Balsamic dressing on this salad. Here is the link: https://barefeetinthekitchen.com/honey-balsamic-vinaigrette-recipe/
What type of apple do you recommend? Would a tart apple be better to offset the sweetness of the other ingredients?
Hi, Marc! Any apple would work, but yes, I would recommend a more tart apple like a Granny Smith to offset the other sweet flavors. I hope you love the salad.
I substituted mozzarella cheese and used spinach for the greens. Very good
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Kimberley!
Made this for a starter at a dinner party. Guests loved it gave it 5-stars. Simple, elegant and tasty.
Glad to hear that the salad was a hit, Richard.
Served for Thanksgiving. My family loved this salad!! I like thar the Honey Basalmic Vinegarette does not have to be refrigerated. Easy andcquick salad to make.
I’m glad it’s a winner for you, Sue!
Love the salad!
Hate the honey in dressing.
I made as directed, but Americans are addicted to sugar & I had a feeling the honey would be too much.
Made again with MY go to dressing which is one part balsamic to 3 parts EVOO, s&p, minced garlic if you want a kick & it was perfect.
I’m so glad you were able to make it work for you. Sometimes I like a sweet dressing and other times not so much.
