Snickers Ice Cream Recipe

To make this snickers ice cream recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • peanut butter
  • brown sugar
  • kosher salt
  • heavy cream
  • milk
  • vanilla extract
  • Snickers bars

The instructions call for thinly slicing fun sized Snickers bars because they add more chocolate to each bite. If you need to, you can substitute full sized Snickers bars, chopped into small bite sized pieces.

When the ice cream finishes churning, transfer about a third of the ice cream to an airtight container and drizzle with a third of the caramel sauce.

Top with pieces of Snickers. Repeat the layers twice more and swirl with a knife just a couple of times to mix throughout.

Cover with a lid and place in the freezer until firm enough to scoop. For an even more amazing treat, drizzle each serving with additional caramel sauce when ready to serve.

I have more ice cream scoops than I can keep track of at this point and I definitely play favorites. This ice cream scoop does the best job ever of cutting through firm ice cream and still delivers a pretty scoop. It gets bonus points for being one of the least expensive scoops I own as well.

  • cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1⅓ cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup caramel sauce room temperature
  • 6 fun size Snickers bars sliced thin

Instructions

  • Stir together the peanut butter, brown sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir in the cream and whisk smooth. Slowly add the milk and vanilla, whisking until smooth. Pour into the ice cream machine and freeze according to the manufacturer's directions.
  • When the ice cream finishes churning, transfer about a third of the ice cream to an airtight container and drizzle with a third of the caramel sauce. Top with pieces of Snickers. Repeat the layers twice more and swirl with a knife just a couple of times to mix throughout.
  • Cover with a lid and place in the freezer until firm enough to scoop. For an even more amazing treat, drizzle each serving with additional caramel sauce when ready to serve.

Notes

I usually figure a batch of homemade ice cream to be 5-6 servings. However, this is very rich ice cream and we tend to enjoy it in smaller portions.

I was skeptical about this recipe simply for the fact that it wasn’t custard based and I thought custard was the only way to make ice cream. I now stand corrected. I didn’t have any Snickers so I used plain M&Ms and this ice was fantastic!!! So smooth and creamy and completely not what I had expected! I am so glad I was short on time and found this recipe! I can’t wait to make it again, it was so so good! Thank you!!5 stars
