Welcome to the weekend, my friends! Are you enjoying the spring sunshine as much as we are? The trees here are budding, so many flowers are blooming, (yay for cheery, bright yellow daffodils!) and I’m soaking up the cool mornings and the sunshine.

After so many years spent in the desert, I’m honestly not a big fan of summer heat, but sunshine? Sunny days will always make me grin – especially after a cold winter. The awesomeness of changing seasons is one of my favorite things about living in Ohio.

ON THE BLOG this week: Did you catch these Baby Back Ribs? They’re made in the Instant Pot and they turn out tender, flavorful, and EASY – cooked to perfection in less than one hour.

Lightly Sautéed Broccoli and Asparagus tossed with just a dab of butter and a sprinkle of parmesan makes a terrific side dish for any meal. I could happily eat this every single day!

Wake up your dishes with a sprinkling of Crazy Salt. Use this seasoning blend on meats, vegetables, sauces, popcorn, eggs, and more.

Crisp on the outside, hot and juicy on the inside, these Asian Steak Bites are a hit every single time I make them. This is one of my favorite ways to cook beef. It only takes a few minutes and the result is bite-size pieces of the juiciest steak you will ever eat!

Homemade Rocky Road Ice Cream is creamy chocolate and almond-flavored ice cream loaded with chewy marshmallows, crunchy almonds, and flecks of chocolate.

What I’m CRAVING:  This Hot Crab Dip from Wholesome Yum sounds fantastic! Served with crunchy fresh veggies, crackers, chips, or toasted baguette slices, this is a snack that I could happily eat for a meal.

What I’m WATCHING: The Chosen. I know I’m late to this one, but WOW. This show. I’ve been brought to tears more than once and it’s been on my heart constantly. It’s such a well-done show. I can not recommend it highly enough. There are quite a few ways to stream the show for free, but for whatever reason, I just never watched until the first season showed up on Amazon.

What I’m READING: Atomic Habits by James Clear. I read this book for the first time three years ago and have recommended it to friends countless times. (I could’ve sworn I’d shared it in a newsletter before, but I’m not finding a mention of it in past emails. Either way, it’s well worth another mention.)

I’m re-reading the book now and it’s every bit as solid a read now as it was the first time I read it. Filled with advice, anecdotes, and simple tips for forming lasting habits, James Clear has a knack for breaking down complex topics into simple behaviors that can be easily applied to daily life and work. He references biology, psychology, and neuroscience (it’s fascinating!) to create an easy-to-understand guide for making good habits inevitable and bad habits impossible.

The first time I read this book, I was left with several practical strategies that helped me to form good habits by taking tiny steps toward them with very simple changes in my behaviors. Here’s hoping for both a refresher and a few more great habits formed.

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
