Grilled Peaches with Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream recipe by Barefeet In The Kitchen

Grilled peaches have finally made their way to my table and I just have to say, we waited far too long. I had no idea what I was missing.

This tastes just like the peaches in my favorite peach cobbler, but without any of the effort or extra ingredients. Serve this with Homemade Ice Cream for a terrific summer dessert.

Place the peaches face-down on the grill or grill pan for 8-10 minutes. When they are tender, they are done.

Ingredients

  • 4 peaches sliced in half

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill or warm a grill pan for medium-low heat. Place the peaches face-down on the grill or grill pan for 8-10 minutes. When they are tender, they are done.

Notes

While you can certainly brush the peaches with a bit of olive oil or melted butter before grilling, I've never found that to be a requirement. If you want to make the peaches a bit sweeter, melted butter with a sprinkling of brown sugar is delicious. For a savory twist, try brushing them with olive oil and sprinkling them lightly with minced, fresh herbs like basil, rosemary, or thyme.

I am loving the fresh peaches at my farm stand right now. I have been eating one for breakfast every morning with my yogurt. I have a couple that I need to use – I might throw them on the grill tonight since reading this has given me the craving:-).

Your vanilla ice cream sounds wonderful, too. Holy ten egg yolks…I have to try it!

Vanilla ice cream is my favorite. I'll bet you could broil frozen peaches in winter time, too, if you were feeling nostalgic for summer!

In college I used to microwave peaches to get that cobbler/crisp-esque effect. This sounds much more delicious! Love that you paired it with homemade ice cream!

I've never had grilled peaches before. I'm not a big fan of fruit warmed or in my food. 🙂 Guess you could say I'm a picky fruit eater. I'll take the ice cream though! 🙂

Unfortunately, I have no access to fresh peaches 🙁 Wonder if I can grill canned ones? Or maybe I can substitute with pineapples.
