Hey friends!! The countdown is on and I am so excited! My new cookbook, The Weeknight Dessert Cookbook, releases ONE MONTH from today!!!
With this cookbook, you will hold in your hands my forever favorite dessert recipes. These are the recipes I reach for time and time again whether for a quick dessert after dinner or a fancier dessert for guests.
Filled with something for every craving: from cakes to cobblers, cookies to crisps, puddings to ice creams, no-bake treats, cookies, and more. This is where I’ve collected my tried-and-true dessert recipes for you.
None of these recipes are complicated or require hard to find ingredients, and all of them are guaranteed to end your meal on just the right sweet note. Best of all, the recipes in this cookbook are made from scratch and can be made with just 5-15 minutes of prep time!
Every recipe in this cookbook has been tested by me, of course, but they’ve also been tested by many volunteer home cooks just like you in a variety of kitchens. They are all reliable, delicious ways to satisfy your sweet tooth with as little hassle as possible.
Many of you have followed along on Instagram as I shared sneak peeks into the making of this cookbook over the past year. For those of you that have been patiently waiting, today’s the big day!
You can preorder the cookbook NOW and it will arrive right at your door on release day. AND if you order today, you’ll get the book at the lowest price it hits between now and release day. (I love Amazon’s price guarantee!)
Here are just a few of the desserts waiting for you inside the new cookbook!
These PB&J Blondies are a kid favorite with a glass of milk, but truthfully, I snack on them just as often as the kids do.
That swirl of jelly on top is irresistible!
Chocolate Cheesecake Mousse Cups are a no-bake dessert that you can whip together in minutes.
And it’s a good thing too, because I really like having these mousse cups stashed in the fridge.
Juicy blueberries in a sweet lemon sauce fill this flaky buttery cobbler.
There is nothing quite like the combination of berries and lemon, and this cobbler makes the most of that deliciousness.
Creamy peanut butter, hot fudge, whipped cream, and bananas combine with a crunchy chocolate crust to make this amazing refrigerator pie.
When I made this pie for the first time and took it to a potluck, people went absolutely crazy over it.
Warm, caramelized peaches form the topping for this Upside Down Peach Cake.
I typically serve this dessert warm topped with whipped cream or ice cream, but however you serve it, you’re sure to love it.
And last but not least, just the sight of these giant cookies is enough to make my mouth water. Crisp edges, chewy centers, and perfectly melting chocolate, they are everything I want in a perfect cookie.
Have I mentioned enough just how excited I am to share all of these recipes with you at last?
The hardest part of writing a cookbook is waiting to share the recipes with you! So, it’s super exciting to tell you that the Weeknight Dinner Cookbook is available now for pre-order on Amazon and on Barnes and Noble online. The release date is October 1st and if you pre-order now, it should land on your doorstep that same day.
I can hardly wait for you all to hold this book!
Sharing my love of food and cooking for others are two of my favorite things. My hope is that this book brings you more joy in the kitchen and many happy times shared with family and friends.

I’m glad you’re excited about it, Debbie!
Anthony Allen says
this was easy and good. Great way to use fresh peaches
Jenna Pitt says
Are the recipes gluten free or regular or both? Very exciting!
Mary Younkin says
Hi Jenny! Unfortunately, it just wasn’t feasible to test both gluten free and regular recipes on this level for the entire cookbook. There are a few recipes in the book that are naturally gluten free, but they’re all traditional recipes, not specifically gluten free.
Angela says
I see my question was answered below already for this specific cookbook, but are your other cookbooks tested for gluten free substitues?
Mary Younkin says
Hi Angela, both of my other books included GF alternatives for each recipe – The Weeknight Dinner Cookbook and The Weekday Lunches and Breakfasts Cookbook.
