Ingredients
¾cupNutella hazelnut chocolate spread
1¼cupsheavy cream
½cupsugar
1½cupsmilk
½teaspoonvanilla extract
⅛teaspoonkosher salt
Optional Nutella Swirl
½cupNutella hazelnut chocolate spread
1tablespooncoconut oil
Instructions
In a large glass bowl, combine ¾ cup of Nutella with the heavy cream. Microwave for 90 seconds, remove from the microwave, and stir smooth. Heat for an additional 30 seconds, only as needed.
Whisk in the sugar. Add the milk, vanilla, and salt. Whisk again to combine. Cool and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, until completely cold.
Process the mixture according to your machine’s instructions.
Nutella Swirl Instructions
While the ice cream is churning, combine ½ cup of Nutella with the coconut oil in a small glass bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, remove from the microwave, and stir smooth. Let cool to room temperature.
When the ice cream finishes churning, transfer half of the ice cream to an airtight container and drizzle with half of the Nutella sauce. Repeat with the remaining ice cream and Nutella sauce.
Cover with a lid and place in the freezer until firm enough to scoop. For an even more amazing treat, drizzle with chocolate sauce, peanut butter topping, or hot fudge when ready to serve.
