Sriracha Tomato and Onion Dip is one of the most irresistible dips I have ever tasted. The spicy hot sauce and chile powder are balanced by the coolness of the tomatoes and sour cream.
This dip was an instant hit with Sean and my oldest son the first time I made it and they didn’t stop talking about it for a few days.
The dip has a much spicier flavor than I am normally drawn to; however, each time I make it, I find myself repeatedly going back to the refrigerator for more. It’s just that good!
Sriracha Tomato and Onion Dip
Ingredients
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 1/2 large tomato diced, about 2/3 cup worth
- 1/2 medium onion finely diced, about ⅓ cup worth
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha hot sauce or the alternate sauce of your choice
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon chile powder I used NM red chile powder
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt adjust to taste
Instructions
- Whisk together the sour cream, garlic, hot sauce and spices. Add the diced tomatoes and onions and stir to combine. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired. Serve with tortilla chips. Enjoy!

This looks so good! I'm not usually drawn to food that's overly hot, but your praise really makes it sound worth trying.

Looks amazing, the color is a bit confusing to my brain as it looks like it would be sweet. But I am all about spicy, so I am definitely going to give this a try. Sounds delicious!

What is it about spicy dips that is so addicting? I kind of stand over them and shovel—it's embarrassing when you're in polite company!
I love the pinkish tone to this one.
