Fresh and creamy strawberry ice cream is sprinkled throughout with Nerds candy to create this super fun Nerds Ice Cream, it’s a completely irresistible kid and adult favorite.

When I stumbled on a question regarding Nerds ice cream a while back, I was immediately intrigued. Nerds candy? I don’t think I’d eaten any Nerds since middle school – at least not that I can recall. Well, I’m happy to tell you that I’m once again hooked on these crunchy, sweet and tart candies. I can’t stop snacking on them now!
And if you also haven’t had Nerds candy since you were a kid, it’s time to change that. (Also – do not buy it from that link, I’m providing it only for the visual aide. Just pick up a box of the candy for a dollar from the grocery store.)
Apparently, there used to be a grape-flavored ice cream with Nerds candy in it. Side note – it turns out that there’s some debate on what the ice cream flavor actually was, but the ice cream was a deep purple-blue color.
So, I tried a couple of different ideas for grape ice cream and well, let’s just say that you can be grateful I’m sparing you that. If I ever nail that one down, I’ll let you know.

Nerds Ice Cream
I then tried adding Nerds candy to a batch of the best ever vanilla ice cream. That was tasty and my husband and the boys enjoyed it. But it wasn’t “wow-ing” me.
Last, I decided to add some Nerds to a batch of old-fashioned strawberry ice cream. Oh. My. Word. What an awesome combination this turned out to be!
With bright and fresh strawberry flavor churned into the ice cream, it’s a perfect match to the strawberry flavor of Nerds candy. I found myself returning to the freezer repeatedly after I made this batch of ice cream – just to “test” the flavor once more.
This ice cream is as easy to make as it could possibly be. You’ll just blend the strawberries, sugar, salt, vanilla, milk, and cream together until smooth and then pour the mixture into the ice cream maker. When the ice cream has almost finished churning, pour the candy into the mix.

Candy Ice Cream
Candy-filled ice creams are irresistible! Check out a few more of our favorites. Every scoop of this Twix Ice Cream is bursting with chunks of cookies, caramel, and chocolate. If you love Twix candy bars, this ice cream just might be your newest favorite flavor.
If you love Whoppers or chocolate malted milk balls, you’re going to go wild for this Chocolate Malted Crunch Ice Cream. This old-fashioned chocolate malt ice cream gets a little extra boost of fun from chopped malted milk balls.
Creamy Candy Cane Ice Cream sprinkled throughout with candy cane pieces is perfect with a brownie or topped with chocolate.
This chocolate ice cream is swirled with bite-size wafer cookies and also loaded with chocolate-covered chunks of Kit Kat candy bars. Kit Kat Ice Cream has everything you love about Kit Kat candy bars swirled into each scoop of this homemade ice cream.

I hope you love it!
Hi Mary,
I have a suggestion for your grape ice cream. I looked for a grape ice cream recipe but could only find it made with grapes. I wanted grape flavored ice cream not grape ice cream so Ikept looking. I have found two ways to get it.
First way and my preferred recipe is: 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 cup whole milk, 1 cup sugar, and 1 envelope grape kool-aid. Wisk it all together and churn it for 25 to 30 minutes then freeze.
Second way is the same but replace your kool-aid with 1 cup grape soda.
I have been thinking about adding grape Nerds to the kool-aid recipe when I saw your Nerds ice cream recipe. I was not sure how much of the candy I would need so thanks for posting your recipe.
oooh!!! I’m trying that, Tim. I finally came up with one that was okay, (said by a girl who doesn’t actually like grape flavored anything very much), that one is made with grape snow cone syrup, but I bet the koolaid one will be better. Thanks for the suggestion!
