Welcome to the weekend, my friends! Is your weather cooling off like ours is? We’re entering fall here in Ohio and every time I walk through leaves on the ground I find myself grinning these days.

ON THE BLOG this week: Slow Cooker Pineapple Chicken is saucy, sweet, and just a little bit spicy. With bites of pineapple and a creamy coleslaw all wrapped up in a warm tortilla, this is a chicken taco that will leave you grinning.

Crunchy popcorn topped with this salty, smoky, slightly spicy Palomitas Seasoning Mix is a popular appetizer at my favorite restaurant in Sedona, AZ. Since I can’t always get to the restaurant, (I’m looking at you, 2000 mile move!) I make my own at home for snacking now.

Buttery brown sugar Hermit Cookies are chewy cookies with crisp edges, filled with nuts and raisins. Filled with warm spices, this is an unforgettable cookie that is subtly spiced and irresistible.

What I’m CRAVING: My youngest son asked if I could try making Orange Chicken “like Panda Express makes it” so, I’ll be trying my friend Sabrina’s copycat recipe for Panda Express Orange Chicken this week.

My FAVORITE THINGS this week are my Kitsch hair towel scrunchies. (I’ve been using them for a year or two now.) I pile my hair on my head with a scrunchie when I get out of the shower and it’s ready to style in very little time. They remove a lot of water without the hassle of wrapping your hair in a towel. Oh, and they’re on sale too! I’m thinking they’ll be great stocking stuffers.

What I’m WATCHING: Lego Masters Season 2. While admittedly, this is my youngest son’s favorite show, we’re all hooked on it now. The insane talent of the competing LEGO Masters is mind-boggling. We watched the finale last night and all cheered for the winning team.

What I’m READING: This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti. My son and I are both reading this book right now. I read it for the first time when I was 13-14 and I still have that original copy, in addition to having his books on my Kindle now.

While the book is admittedly a bit dated, (it was first published in 1986) I believe that it is still relevant today. It’s a fictional story where the physical world meets the spiritual realm as the battle rages between forces of good and evil. If nothing else, it reinforces the power of prayer in our daily lives.

“So what do you do while you’re living? Staying alive is nice, but you can’t do that forever. It’s how you live the life you have while you have it.” – Frank Peretti,

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
