Welcome to the weekend, my friends! It’s been gloriously chilly and rainy this week and I’m in fall heaven. Several rainy days in a row made me really appreciate the sunshine-filled days too. Have I mentioned lately just how much I love Ohio?
Our chickens are loving their new digs and I can hardly wait for the first eggs. My fingers are crossed that they’ll start laying in the next week or two!
GIVEAWAY CLOSED Today, for the fourth week of the 12 Weeks of Christmas Giveaways, I’m giving away a $100 gift card to IT Cosmetics. My two favorite products that I use twice a day every single day are the Bye Bye Make-Up Cleansing Balm and the Secret Sauce Moisturizer.
And here’s a tip from a long-time fan of these products. I’ve never paid full price. Not once. So, check back often and wait to buy your faves. (Or sign up for their emails. I click over to see what’s on sale every time one pops up.) The sales come and go and they are usually good ones. (I’m super impatient for the holiday sales this year – they were amazing last year!) I plan to stock up like crazy.
To be entered, leave a comment on THIS BLOG POST telling me how you wash your face. The winner will be selected on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 11:59pm EST. (Unfortunately, you can not be entered from email replies, so be sure to click over to the blog post to be entered!)
Here’s the lucky winner’s comment:

ON THE BLOG this week: Garlic Butter Roasted Carrots are caramelized carrots with slightly crisp edges in a garlic honey butter sauce. This awesome recipe is from Rebecca Lindamood’s new cookbook, The Ultimate Guide To Vegetable Side Dishes. The cookbook was released just a few days ago and take my word for it, you want to get this in your hands just as soon as possible!
Sage sausage, dried cranberries, fresh herbs, tart apples, and cubes of sourdough add up to create the best Sausage Stuffing I have ever tasted.
Butter and garlic combine to make any form of potato more delicious, don’t they? These Rustic Mashed Potatoes have been a family favorite for as long as we’ve been married.
What I’m CRAVING: These Italian Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers by A Farmgirl’s Dabbles are filled with Italian sausage, cream cheese, Parmesan, and mozzarella.
My FAVORITE THINGS this week are my clipboards. You’ve probably seen them a thousand times in my Instagram stories over the years, but they continue to be the place I store my lists, my recipes in progress, my everything. It’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll find a stack of these clipboards on my desk any day of the week.
What I’m READING: These High, Green Hills by Jan Karon. The third book of The Mitford Years series was every bit as good or better than the first two. One of my favorite characters passed away in this book and I cried hard through those pages.
The character development continues to draw you in and I just love Father Tim and the rest of Mitford. These books are a balm to the soul and they’re everything I want in a book these days.
What I’m WATCHING: I just finished watching Monk – the whole series from start to end. I’d caught a few episodes over the years, but I’d never watched the whole series. It was awesome.
“In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October.” – Alexander Smith
Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!

I am so happy you love Ohio, I’m in neighboring Michigan and this is my favorite time of the year! Crisp and colorful, Fall has always signaled preparation for the snowy in-home times to come. For years I have simply used warm water to rinse away the days grime from my face and now that I turned 60 I may have regrets with that! Too late to correct the wear and tear? Let’s hope not. I’m ready to adopt a better skin care regime so your blog couldn’t have come at a better time!
