Bright and colorful and decidedly retro in the best way, bubble gum ice cream is a unique ice cream with a whole lot of whimsy and hints of banana, cherry, and strawberry.
1cupfresh strawberries, trimmedabout 6 large berries (frozen berries that have been thawed will also work)
1small banana
⅔cupfresh or frozen (and thawed) cherriesabout 16 cherries
½cupsugar
¼teaspoonkosher salt
1teaspoonvanilla extract
½teaspoonalmond extract
½cupmilk
1cupheavy cream
½cupsmall bubble gum balls
Instructions
Combine the strawberries, banana, cherries, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and milk in the blender. Blend until smooth. Add the cream and pulse to combine.
Pour into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Transfer the finished ice cream to an airtight container and gently stir in the bubble gum balls. Place in the freezer until ready to serve.
