Ingredients
Peach Sauce Ingredients
1½poundsfresh peachespeeled and diced into approximately ½-inch pieces, about 4 cups worth
¼cupsugar
1tablespoonlemon juice
Ice Cream Ingredients
1¾cupsheavy cream
1¼cupwhole milk
⅔cupsugar
½teaspoonground cinnamonOPTIONAL
⅛teaspoonkosher salt
1½teaspoonsvanilla extract
Instructions
Peach Sauce Instructions
Combine the peaches, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously while the sugar melts and the mixture comes to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for about 8-10 minutes, until the peaches are soft. Use a wooden spoon to smash the fruit a bit as it is cooking.
Remove from the heat and cool completely before dividing the sauce in half and placing both portions in the refrigerator to chill until needed.
Ice Cream Instructions
Whisk together the cream, milk, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Pour into the ice cream machine and freeze according to the manufacturer's directions.
Scoop the churned ice cream into a freezer container, adding a spoonful or two of the chilled peach sauce along with each scoop of the ice cream. Swirl lightly with a knife and place in the freezer until ready to serve. Serve with the remaining peach sauce on top.
