Vanilla Bean Whipped Honey Butter recipe by Barefeet In The KitchenWhile I was making honey butter the other day to go with our cornbread; I remembered the abundance of vanilla beans in my pantry. (I found a great deal on them last year when I started making extract and I bought a bunch of them at that time.)

Whipped honey butter is made even more delicious with the addition of vanilla. Use a vanilla bean if you have it, the flecks of vanilla bean in the honey butter are irresistible.

  • 1/2 cup butter room temperature
  • 2 tbsp milk or water
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 vanilla bean scraped or ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, or a large mixing bowl, whip the butter with the milk for 2-3 minutes until it is light and fluffy. Add the honey and beat for another minute, until well combined. Add the vanilla and beat just to combine. Scoop into a jar and use immediately or chill until needed. Bring to room temperature when ready to serve. Enjoy!

I have these small oily things that I think are called vanilla pods/beans. could I use them to make this butter do you think?

The butter should be fine for quite a while. Most butter keeps well in the fridge indefinitely. I'd say at least a month, although I've personally never had it last that long around my house!
