Sunshine, fantastic food, spa days, and time spent with friends is a perfect combination for a getaway weekend! The Scott Resort & Spa hosted us for the weekend in Scottsdale and it was fabulous.

My friends Chad and Donna from The Slow Roasted Italian coordinated everything for this retreat and they did an amazing job with it all; from a beautiful location, to fabulous food around the clock, to a wine tasting and food pairing, spa visits, and time at the pool.

We talked and ate and laughed and then ate some more; the whole weekend was wonderfully relaxing.

It was fantastic to meet so many talented bloggers in person: Christie from Love from the Oven, Anetta from The Wanderlust Kitchen, Ashlee from Ashlee Marie, Kristen from Six Sisters Stuff, Erica from Favorite Family Recipes, Tessa from Handle the Heat, Alejandra from Always Order Dessert, Sara from Mom Endeavors, and Katerina from Diethood.

The rooms were lovely, the property is breathtakingly beautiful and I can’t recommend their service highly enough. I spent each morning (because I’m a ridiculously early waker these days!) wandering their lovely grounds and then reading by the pool with my coffee. My massage at the amazing on-site Jurlique Spa was one of the best massages I’ve ever received.

Entwine joined us on Friday for delicious wine tasting and food pairings. Want to know what my favorite thing about Entwine is? They give a list of food pairings on the back of each bottle.

Check out the back of their wine bottles and you’ll see for yourself! Seriously, did you know that there is a perfect wine to pair with chips and guacamole?

Transportation for the weekend was provided by Uber, and let me tell you, I could get used to that! If you’ve never heard of them, I highly recommend checking them out next time you need a lift for yourself or a group of people.

Their phone app is amazing, just a couple clicks and a very nice ride will be at the door in just a few minutes. I may never take a cab again when traveling!

A bunch of different types of food on a plate, with Brunch

Friday night we had dinner at Rusconi’s American Kitchen where Chef Michael Rusconi wowed us with five courses that had us grinning from start to finish.

Every single bite of our meal was pure awesomeness and I left the restaurant so very happy that I live nearby. I already have plans to return to Rusconi’s next weekend. I had no idea that such a wonderful gem of a restaurant was in my area!

FireSky’s on-site Italian restaurant Taggia provided our breakfast, lunch, and dinner courtesy of the talented Chef Massimo De Francesca.

All of the wonderful food was followed by the most amazingly mind-blowing chocolate covered tiramisu I’ve ever eaten. If you’re anywhere in the valley, you really need to experience it!

The measuring cups are cute, but I would LOVE to have (and would get the most use out of) the silicone cutting boards. 🙂 …..

I would love to own the palm green spatula from Le Creuset. It looks very handy and would match my kitchen!!!

Hmmmmmm, micro-plane/zester that has an attached tray to catch the items being zester is brilliant 🙂 Love to cook and bake and would enjoy any of the gadgets listed, always looking for things to make cooking easier and more efficient!

Yep, the measuring cups. That way, I just might have enough that it won't matter that I leave one in the flour container, one in the sugar, etc.

I would love to have the zester. It's something I don' have and I always seem to avoid recipes which want me to use one. This will help eliminate my hesitation! Thank you.
