Welcome to the weekend, my friends! We had our first snow last weekend and I loved every single tiny snowflake. It didn’t last long at all, but it has me really excited for winter now. My brother’s family is arriving tomorrow to spend the week with us and I can hardly wait to have them here. There will be card games, laughter, and a whole lot of delicious food happening this week.

If you haven’t yet nominated a family, now’s your chance to give them a reason to smile this Christmas. Entries will be closed in 10 days. We need YOUR help finding the families! FILL OUT THIS FORM to nominate a family in need. You can also READ MORE on the website.

ON THE BLOG this week: Chunks of turkey, carrots, celery, and thick egg noodles come together in this Creamy Turkey Soup to create a perfect after-Thanksgiving meal. My family looks forward to this soup every bit as much as we look forward to the big turkey with all the sides.

This homemade brown gravy is delicious on turkey, chicken, beef, potatoes, poutine, and more – best of all, it’s easily made without any meat drippings!

Spicy shrimp paired with creamy guacamole on top of a crunchy tortilla chip? Yes, please! These Chile Lime Shrimp Tostada Bites are irresistible.

Smooth and creamy chocolate fondue that you can make in just a couple of minutes? What’s not to love?? Served with loads of fruit, cream puffs, graham crackers, and pretzels, this Dessert Fondue Board is a treat for the eyes and for everyone’s taste buds.

What I’m CRAVING: Shrimp and Grits! Between her mouthwatering photos and the simplicity of Joanne’s recipe, this needs to happen asap.

My FAVORITE THINGS this week are these containers for food storage. Not only do they make my pantry cupboards look terrific, they’re airtight, super easy to use and come in a bunch of different sizes. I’m using them for everything these days.

Best of all, they’re easy to clean! Just toss them in the dishwasher and they come out sparkling. So much better than other storage containers I’ve tried in the past!

What I’m WATCHING: Jungle Cruise – This was a fun movie to enjoy with the kids. We laughed a lot. It’s just plain fun. We’re all fans of Dwayne Johnson and this was another success for him. If you happen to have Disney Plus at home, it’s a free watch there too.

What I’m READING: Home to Holly Springs by Jan Karon. Hooray for another Father Tim book at last. This is the 10th book in the Mitford series. I had to force myself to take a break from the Mitford series a while back so that I wouldn’t finish them too quickly! But whoops – that break worked so well, I forgot about them for a while.

As a result, this book was very good for my heart. I loved catching up with the characters and remembering where everyone is at in their lives. This is one of my favorite series ever, right up there with Anne of Green Gables for me, it’s just pure joy to read.

“There may be circumstances in this life that God uses to keep bringing us back to Him, looking for His grace.” – Jan Karon, Home to Holly Springs

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
