Welcome to the weekend, my friends! Can you believe that we’re already in the first weekend of November? We say it every single year, but it never fails to be true – time is surely flying.

My middle son turned 16 a couple of weeks ago and my firstborn will be 18 next month. It hardly seems possible that my babies are nearly grown and yet, I’m also so very proud of the men they are becoming.

ON THE BLOG this week:  First things first, it’s that time of year again, friends. Let’s give a few families a reason to smile this holiday season. We’re going to spread some Christmas cheer once again with (5) $500 giveaways for families in need. And like last year, we need YOUR help finding the families! FILL OUT THIS FORM to nominate a family in need. You can also READ MORE on the website.

Tender potatoes, fresh cabbage, and salty kielbasa are about all you need to make this quick and easy flavor-filled Kielbasa Cabbage Potato Skillet. There is never a bite leftover when I make this and my kids ask for it often.

Homemade Almond Joys really do taste better than store-bought. Rich, chocolatey and nutty with plenty of light, flaky coconut, Almond Joy candy bars are easier than you’d expect to make at home.

What I’m CRAVING: My friend Sandra made Belle of the Kitchen’s Creamy Chicken and Noodles in the crock-pot this week and told me that it was absolutely delicious. I have it on my list to try now. It sounds perfect for these chilly evenings.

My FAVORITE THINGS this week are these disposable kitchen gloves. I’ve been using these gloves in the kitchen for many years now. (They’re just awesome when you need to grease a dish or mess with raw meats.) Anyways, I’ve always bought them at Costco and then Costco stopped carrying them. And then I ran out. Cue my frustration with all the other options out there.

I was excited to find them on Amazon a few weeks ago. (Yes, I just said that disposable kitchen gloves were exciting – this is my life.) I immediately ordered a box and they’re the exact ones Costco used to carry. They run a little more expensive online, but oh man, they are soooo worth it to me. I’ve already ordered a couple of backup boxes since that first order and I’m all set now for the next few years of cooking. YAY!

What I’m WATCHING: NCIS. I’m finally caught up to the current episodes and looking forward to seeing where they go with the new characters.

What I’m READING: Rest, Girl: A Journey from Exhausted and Stressed to Entirely Blessed by Jami Amerine (link HERE) If you can relate to feeling overwhelmed and longing for calm in the midst of everything, this book is for you. This is Jami’s fourth book and I’m enjoying it greatly. I laughed, sighed, and nodded my way through it.

Side note, if you missed Jami’s first book, Stolen Jesus (link HERE) I can’t recommend that one highly enough. You can read my full thoughts (and the foreward I wrote for it) here too.

“I’ve learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.” – Charles F. Stanley

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
