Welcome to the weekend, my friends! Fall has arrived and the days and nights are cooling off at last. Nothing reminds me how much I love living in Ohio quite like the first days of fall. I’ve had A Beautiful Morning running through my mind on repeat this week.

ON THE BLOG this week: Remember when I said, I just don’t think you can have enough street corn inspired recipes? Well, this Street Corn Chicken Salad is proof of that once again. Tender bites of chicken and fresh corn are coated with a creamy, spicy sauce of mayonnaise, lime, cilantro, and cotija cheese to make this flavorful chicken salad.

Tender tortellini pasta filled with cheese or spinach is simmered along with Italian sausage in a rich and flavorful sauce to make this recipe for Sausage, Tortellini, and Spinach in a Creamy Tomato Sauce. This tortellini recipe is so irresistible, the whole family was stealing bites straight out of the pan on the stove.

Beautiful skies, rolling hills, and cowboys herding cattle in the distance add up to a picturesque peek into the cattle industry. The people that work the ranches and care for these animals are my kind of people. Their love for family and their love for the land defines them.

What I’m CRAVING: Potsickers! You know those cravings that you get that simply won’t go away? I’ve been craving Chinese dumplings (aka Potstickers) for days! It’s either time to go out for Chinese or give it a shot making some myself – this potsticker recipe by The Novice Chef looks great.

My FAVORITE THINGS this week are these kitchen shears. I love them so much, I’ve given them as gifts, bought an extra set to use in the RV, and I use them multiple times a day. If you’ve never used a truly excellent pair of kitchen scissors, you need these in your life.

What I’m READING: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg. This was such a fun read. It’s a Newbery Medal–winning children’s book (from 1968) that I stumbled upon a few weeks ago via a reader recommendation and I’d never heard of it before.

It’s the story of two children who run away from home and hide in the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a week. While I read it fairly quickly one night this week, it’s probably a solid recommendation for 8-12 year olds. I’m handing it off to my 11 year old this week and crossing my fingers that he’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

“Little minds think and talk about people. Average minds think and talk about things and actions. Great minds think and talk about ideas.” Benjamin Franklin

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
