Welcome to the weekend, my friends! We’re still covered in snow over here and my meal plan for the coming week looks like soup, pasta, chili, and more soup. I miss my longer daily walks, but even a few minutes outside is refreshing at this point.

ON THE BLOG this week: You’re only 20 minutes and 5 ingredients away from the awesomeness that is this flavor-filled Sausage Egg Roll In A Bowl!

Light, fluffy, crisp-edged Whole Wheat Waffles are possible with just a few easy tips. Waffles are comfort food at its best. Breakfast or dinner, they are guaranteed to make everyone happy.

Crunchy toasted Brioche topped with jam and almonds creates an irresistible pastry called Bostock. As simple as it sounds (and is to make) once you’ve tasted it, I’m willing to bet that you’ll be telling everyone about it.

What I’m CRAVING: Do you love Whole Food’s Chantilly Cake as much as I do?? My friend Christi shared a recipe for it a few days ago and I CAN NOT WAIT TO MAKE IT! This cake is my favorite bakery cake ever and I am so excited to make it now.

What I’m WATCHING: Heartland – I started watching this show 3-4 years ago and I’m still enjoying it every bit as much now. This is a feel-good, modern-day Little House on the Prairie kind of show. I just started watching season 12 and it’s fun to see Amy and Ty as parents – and also amusing to realize just how much I still dislike a couple of the other characters.

What I’m READING: Rainbow Valley by L.M. Montgomery – Oh, how I love Anne’s children. They’re all such terrific characters with wonderful personalities and they’re immensely lovable. The manse kids, Jerry, Faith, Carl, and Una Meredith are all introduced in this book, along with Mary Vance. There are a few grown-up love stories that are happening along the way as well.

Reading the book and waiting for the adults to fall in love was fun all over again. These books have been pure joy from one page to the next. They’ve been just what my heart needed and wanted as we entered this new year.

In case I haven’t mentioned it enough over the past month, the Kindle version of THE ENTIRE SERIES is still just $.49 (not a typo!) on Amazon. Pure reading joy is guaranteed for less than a dollar.

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!

Unfortunately, I’m having some delivery issues with my email service. This is why I’ve started sharing the newsletter here as well. I’m hoping to have it straightened out in the next week or so!
