Welcome to the weekend, my friends! It has been one of those weeks where the weather feels so perfect and crisp that it makes me grin every single time I step outside. It has even been chilly enough on the porch in the morning for a blanket a couple of times.

Can you even believe it is October? Can I be honest? I’m not remotely ready for the holidays. It’s hard to even believe fall is here some days. But I’ve come up with something that makes me grin about the holidays and hopefully will make you grin too.

GIVEAWAY CLOSED Today I’m kicking off 12 Weeks of Christmas Giveaways. And these giveaways are just for you all, my newsletter subscribers and Instagram story people. I’m not promoting them anywhere else.

If you’ve been reading my newsletters for long, you already know many of my favorite things. And these giveaways are just that. A round-up of my favorite things that I can hardly wait to share with you!

These giveaways aren’t sponsored. They’re just from me to you to say thanks for being the most awesome group of Internet friends ever.

Today, I’m giving away the Cuisinart Double Belgian Maker Waffle Iron that we use to make all of these waffles. And I’m including the Danish Dough Whisk that stirs together perfect batter.

To be entered, leave a comment on this blog post telling me how you top your waffles. The winner will be selected on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 11:59pm EST.

Here’s the lucky winner’s comment:

ON THE BLOG this week: Juicy, flavorful grilled chicken thighs are perfect for a quick dinner or as a potluck main dish for a crowd. Much like the way we enjoy Last Minute Chicken, grilled chicken is a staple on our menu plans. I typically plan to grill on Sunday afternoon and that gives us plenty of leftovers for a couple more days as well.

The most popular question I’ve ever received on this website is whether you can make ice cream without a machine. (With so many ice cream recipes on the website, you can imagine how frequently I hear this question!) The answer is YES. You CAN make ice cream without a machine. I shared the directions on the site this week, along with step-by-step photos for each stage of the process.

Fluffy Biscuits with plenty of buttery layers are possible with just a few helpful tips and about ten minutes of hands-on effort. This is another recipe that was many years past needing updated photos!

What I’m CRAVING: All the hearty soups, chowders, and chilis! Once again, my friend Holly is making me hungry. This Creamy Cannellini Bean Soup that she shared this week looks so good!

My FAVORITE THINGS this week are these silk hair ties. Silk hair ties sound fancy, but they serve a solid purpose. They hold your hair back with almost no pulling or hair loss. Who knew that scrunchies would see a comeback? I’ve been using these at night for over a year now and I still love them as much as I did the first time I used them.

What I’m READING: A Light in the Window by Jan Karon. This is the second book in the Mitford series and I’m completely hooked. The characters and their lives are so believable. If you want to curl up with something heartwarming, this is the series you want to read.

“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.” ― Oscar Wilde

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!

Your recipe converted me to waffle sauce (my husband has been trying to switch me over for years) but I also LOVE peanut butter and maple syrup.

Oh my gosh, its been so long since I had waffles! I need to find me a mini waffle maker, I really love them.
I know this sounds weird but we used to cover them with lots of butter, cinnamon sugar and whipped cream.

I top my waffles simply with real butter and real maple syrup! Can’t go wrong with that! And sometimes fresh blueberries too!

That was a really nice thing for you to do – this giveaway.
