Welcome to the weekend, my friends! I have some exciting news for you this week! (Okay, maybe not quite as exciting for you as for me, but oh my goodness this has been a long time coming!)

Barefeet In The Kitchen has a whole new look and the website is loaded with awesome new features to make finding, saving, and cooking your favorite recipes easier than ever. And best of all, it’s all been designed to be more accessible than ever on mobile devices.

Looking for a recipe to use that ground beef in the freezer? The recipe indexing has been overhauled to deliver the best possible results for every search. Just use the handy search at the top of each page to find whatever you’re looking for today.

Want to finally try making ice cream? (FYI – there are 70 more ice cream recipes waiting for you after you’ve tried everyone’s favorite Homemade Ice Cream!)

ON THE BLOG this week: Blueberry Baked Oatmeal is a berry-filled baked oatmeal that can be stirred together in just minutes. If you haven’t yet tried baked oatmeal, this is a delicious recipe to start with today.

Fresh corn, tomatoes, peppers, and onion come together with a splash of lime to create the most delicious Summer Corn Salad ever.

Turtle Cheesecake with caramel, chocolate, pecans, and an Oreo crust is a dessert that gets talked about long after the plates are cleaned.

What I’m CRAVING: I’ve been craving a restaurant worthy carrot cake with pineapple, raisins, and nuts. So, a little internet searching brought me to this Ultimate Carrot Cake  that was shared by Tastes Better From Scratch. I’m thinking it needs to be made this weekend, right?

My FAVORITE THING this week is this magical dryer vent cleaning kit! It may sound trivial, but for less than $15 we now have a dryer that is working like new. I had no idea it was even possible to clean out the dryer vent all the way to the outside. Live and learn – and you can bet that I won’t forget to clean it again.

What I’m READING: Gobbledy by Lis Anna-Langston. This is a brand new book that we received as an advance copy. I recommend pre-ordering a copy today for the middle schooler in your life.

Review written by my 10 year old son, Nate Younkin: “I really enjoyed this book. I liked how unique all of the characters were, none of them were boring. The story is about a lovable little alien and the kids that found him. My favorite part was the ketchup factory and I thought it was very funny. I think this book would be great for 9-12 year old kids. I read it in a few hours.”

“Come, little leaves,” said the Wind one day, “Come to the meadows with me and play. Put on your dresses of red and gold; For Summer is past, and the days grow cold.” ― George Cooper

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
