Welcome to the weekend, my friends! It’s been a delicious week over here and I’m pretty excited about the recipes coming at you next week too. I’m already dreaming of fall and winter foods! How’s the weather these days in your part of the world?

August is rapidly becoming my favorite month this year. The days, the nights, the sunsets and sunrises, everything about August in Ohio this year has been pretty amazing. (My sincerest apologies to my Phoenix friends who are stuck indoors with 117 degree weather while I’m talking about these glorious 70-80 degree days. As much as I miss you all, I sure don’t miss the heat!)

ON THE BLOG this week: As you may recall, Sweet and Tangy Pulled Pork is one of my go-to dinner recipes and I typically make a triple batch. We eat pulled pork on its own, in sandwiches, stuffed into tacos, piled on nachos, stacked with enchiladas, and last but most certainly not least, layered into BBQ Sundaes. There is almost no way to go wrong making a batch of pulled pork and there are countless ways to serve it.

Creamy Penne with Fresh Summer Vegetables is a meal my whole family enjoys, and luckily you can pull this recipe together in about 20 minutes. This is a flavor-filled one-pan meal that can be made with just about any vegetables that you enjoy.

Sweet strawberries and tart rhubarb are combined in this buttery handheld cake, creating a light, summery Strawberry Rhubarb Cake that gets rave reviews every time I make it.

What I’m CRAVING: This Chocolate Cake by Modern Honey caught my eye this week and the photos actually made my mouth water. I clearly need to bake a cake soon!

My FAVORITE THING this week is this weed dragon. This is a simple torch that we use to burn off the weeds that grow on our gravel driveway. The torch attaches to a small propane tank and it’s plenty powerful to burn off all of the weeds that grow in between rocks on a path.

What I’m READING: The Hideaway by Lauren K. Denton. I really enjoyed this book. It’s a story of love and loss and coming through that stronger and wiser. While it was a bit cheesy at times, it reminded me of a good Hallmark movie. No complaints about that though, sometimes a cheesy sweet read or movie is all I want. I was surprised to learn that this was the author’s first book. I’m looking forward to reading more.

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
