Welcome to the weekend, my friends! The kids and I are headed back to Blackhand Gorge today to hike and walk a bit. And we’re looking forward to spending a day at Hocking Hills this coming week as well. We’re enjoying some really great weather and trying to get out of the house as much as possible.

ON THE BLOG this week: Cheesy Bacon Potato Salad is filled with chunks of cheese and chewy pieces of bacon. My kids love this potato salad.

Fresh sweet peaches are tossed together with sugar and spices, then baked in between layers of brown sugar and oats to form a chewy sweet crust on this Peach Oatmeal Crunch.

BBQ Chicken and Cheese Fries start with a layer of crisp french fries. The hot fries are piled with saucy barbecue chicken and topped with melting cheese and fresh green onion to create this irresistibly snackable meal.

What I’m CRAVING: This Lemon Mascarpone Layer Cake by Life, Love, and Sugar looks incredible! What’s not to love about a moist lemon cake with layers of lemon curd and a whipped mascarpone frosting??

My FAVORITE THING this week is my new umbrella. Somehow almost all of our umbrellas have either disappeared or been broken over the past few years. Dealing with wimpy umbrellas makes me cranky, so 7000+ reviews convinced me to try this one. I’ll let you know if it turns out to be a dud, but I’m liking it so far. It’s definitely sturdier than our old ones!

What I’m READING: The Way I Heard It by Mike Rowe. This book was such a fun read. Who doesn’t love Mike Rowe? His awesome personality comes through in this book and I laughed so many times. If you remember listening to Paul Harvey’s The Rest of The Story on the radio, I’m willing to bet you’ll love this book.

I enjoyed trying to figure out who each chapter was about before Mike revealed it. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed this book so much on my Kindle that I bought a hardback copy of the book for our guest room. It’s a keeper.

“We live in a society that breeds discontent by defining success as bigger homes, nicer cars, and fuller closets. Gratitude is the cure.” – Joshua Becker

Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
