Sweet Cream Shaved Ice - get the recipe at barefeetinthekitchen.com

Sweet cream drizzled over fluffy shaved ice creates the most refreshing treat I could’ve imagined. I haven’t had a snow cone in years and this is certain to be the very best snow cone you’ve ever tasted. My kids went nuts over it and I grinned imagining all the possibilities. I’m giving away the same shaved ice machine I own to one of you today, so be sure to read to the bottom of the post and enter to win!

The very same day that my friend Meseidy shared a recipe for Puerto Rican shaved ice, I ordered a Shaved Ice Machine. She made a simple snow cone sound so refreshing, I had to try it for myself. (I still can’t believe how excited I am over this simple gadget!)

This little machine has already provided a heck of a lot of fun for my kids and I both. On a day when the temp is well past 100 degrees, it’s pure heaven to sit and sip on spoonfuls of sweet shaved ice. I’m giddy over the possibilities for this machine all summer long and I want one of you to join the shaved ice fun with me!

I'm always a fan of strawberry kiwi but the sweet cream recipe sounds amazing. I think it would remind me of making snow ice cream in the winter.

  2. Donna C. says

I'd like to try your recipe, but I also wonder what it would be like with simple grape juice? Watermelon juice?

  3. Karen Wood says

Well I'm a big sucker for vanilla, sooooooo…. vanilla. I can top that with any other flavor even in addition to the sweet cream.

  4. Jessica DeMay says

Is it weird that I kinda want to just eat the shaved ice plain? I've asked for snow cones that way! A coconut La Croix would also be delicious poured over it!

  5. Blue Angel says

Lately I just use Natural Bliss Sweet Cream by coffeeMate made into ice cubes that I put into a zippy and crush with a hsmmer! Then z wee bit of a drizzle of blueberry puree from fresh blueberries of the garden , may put a dollop of creme fraiche on top eh! Thank you for this opportunity to put the hammer down as it were for Shaved Ice☆

  6. Annette says

The first flavor I'd make is ice cream flavor and I'd top it with sweetened condensed milk. This has been my favorite flavor combination since I was a child.

Oh wow me and my family tried this and the grandkids are crazy over this recipe the sweet cream is a very good hit it had a great flavor I also tried it with almond flavor it was also good I will continue to keep this recipe I did however have to add a little more of the sweet creamed milk the heavy cream to get it a little thicker the way we like it and sweeter but it was most definitely a hit.

  9. Janet Higgins says

I would diffidently make the sweet cream flavor first. Makes me think of the snow ice cream we used to make as kids, but even better. I bought a very powerful blender hoping to use it to make Sno Cones, but it just can’t produce snow.

Root beer would be the first choice in my house with a scoop of vanilla on the bottom and a snow cap in the top! We first learned of the cream on top on a trip to Island Snow in Hawaii many years ago and we are sure to enjoy it every-time we return, another family favorite!

  20. Bridgette says

I’d love one of these machines to use for my church’s youth department fundraisers. I grew up with these sno cream treats. My first one would be a cream soda flavor! This would be a great resource for helping our kids practice their entrepreneurial skills!

  21. Carlie scott says

My name is carlie, and my favorite flavor is strawbetry shortcake. And that is made with a cake batter syrup, a strawberry syrup and topped with the sweet cream. The first place I ever had it was at snow Vegas about a month ago, and I’ve been obseased ever since. I would love to be able to make it on my own.

  22. Karla Yuncker says

My favorite flavor is silver fox with vanilla ice cream and a snow cap. It is sooo delicious!!! I cannot get enough of the snow cap, I ask for some in the middle as well as on top.

  23. Lauren Golemon says

  25. Rita says

I am looking to create some delicious ice treats for my family this summer especially because we probably won’t be able to be outside much. I like that the Hawaiian Shaved Ice machine is affordable and appears to work great. Shaved ice is a part of my childhood. Where I grew up we call this tasty treat ‘sky juice,’ sold in a clear plastic bag; just put a straw in it and sip away!

  26. Debbie says

I just heard about creamed shaved ice about a week ago. As soon as he mentioned it I knew I would have to try to find a recipe. Thank you so much for the recipe. I would try vanilla first and work from there. Sometimes I have a little trouble breathing and a nurse told me shaved or crushed would help. She was right. I carried a kids snow cone maker for a long time. My grandson love it because I used the flavors for them. I ate plain ice. I can still see and hear my granddaughter the g first time I showed up without it. She looked so sad and said oh no mam you must be feeling better. No more snow cones. I went and bought them one before I went home. Lol.5 stars

  27. Bridgette Mcdavid says

Can’t wait to make this. If I won this cool machine. I would make first with it a brown mule. Using this cream recipe with a chocolate syrup .5 stars
