Hey friends! I am SUPER excited to finally tell you about my partnership with Butcher Box. And to make it even more deliciously fun, they’ve sweetened today’s offer to Barefeet In The Kitchen Readers with free BACON.
I’ve waited a little while to tell you about this because I wanted to make sure this was a deal I could recommend without reservations. My conclusion, yes, it’s worth it.
I can tell you now that this meat, it is top quality meat. Every single thing we’ve tried from Butcher Box has been a much nicer quality than anything we can find in the stores.
You’re paying a premium price for these meats, but for the quality of meat that is being delivered, it is a bargain. And if you’re already buying grass-fed beef? This deal is going to make your day.
What Is Butcher Box?
Just in case, you haven’t heard of Butcher Box, they are a subscription meat delivery service offering Grass Fed Beef, Heritage Breed Pork, and Free Range Chicken selections.
There’s free shipping on every order and you can cancel at any time.
Everything is included in the subscription price. Butcher Box isn’t going to nickel and dime you with extra charges. It’s a flat fee each month and you can customize your box or let Butcher Box surprise you with the shipment each month.
There are a couple different ways you can sign up and I’ll tell you all about it at the end of this post. (You can watch my unboxing video at the top of this post too – why are those always so much fun??)
Butcher Box Review
My thoughts, after trying my own Butcher Box subscription: If you want to save time and skip the hassle of going to special grocery stores for specific cuts of meat, or if you have trouble finding high-quality meats near you at a decent price, and you know that you’ll enjoy the convenience of having a new assortment of meats automatically delivered to your home each month, then ButcherBox is for you.
On the other hand, if you are on a tight grocery budget, if you typically plan your meals around the $2-3 per pound meats that go on sale, if you don’t honestly care about the high end quality of the meat as long as it tastes good when you cook it and everyone is fed? This probably isn’t going to be your deal. No judgement at all. I spent a whole lot of years shopping the sale ads and I can tell you now that this offer wouldn’t have been a fit for me at that time.
However, if you ARE interested in checking out the quality difference that you actually can taste in grass fed beef and heritage breed pork? These offers are an awesome way to do that.
I can assure you that the difference in quality between THIS meat and the grass fed beef I’ve bought from the grocery store is night and day. (And this price is much better!)
Last but not least, for what it’s worth, I’m still too frugal to order my chicken through Butcher Box. We simply go through too much of it and I can’t justify the cost per pound for my ravenous crew. However, the beef and pork? This a darn good deal for the larger cuts of premium meat.
